In Honor of Henry Bartsch

Each year, this award is presented to an Alberta Canadian College of Funeral Service student who exemplifies the selfless giving characteristics of 

Henry Bartsch; 

a man who dedicated his life to serving others and making a difference.

Criteria

  • available to any second year student in good standing with CCFS

  • participates in an organization, club, event or exemplary related service(s) to make a difference 

  • improves their community or environment beyond the direct relationship to the position of employment  

  • makes a visible difference

  • participates in making a difference by commitment of action to persons or places, to improve the lives of others

  • goes above and beyond the calling of the profession 


The criteria listed for this award is a general overview and is in the spirit of "Making a Difference." It has no specific categories or requirements so as to encourage as many nominations/applications as possible.


To be considered for this award, candidates must submit: 

  • a letter of application, describing his or her activities of "making a difference" in the community and peoples lives,
  • a letter from his or her employer or colleague(s), and 
  • a letter from the person(s) or place where he or she participated, describing the way he or she made a difference.
